The Alumni Career Network can be a powerful resource for alumni and students alike.  It provides a medium through which Valparaiso University alumni and students can connect with one another for career exploration, job search advice, and networking.  To ensure proper use of this service, it is important that users adhere to the following:

Guidelines

1. Identify some career direction(s) before contacting an alum.  Speak with a career counselor at the Career Center beforehand, if needed.

2. Ask alumni for advice, suggestions and guidance.

3. Do not ask alumni for a job or an internship.

4. Research alumni, and their professions and employers before you contact them.

5. Thank them for their assistance and stay in touch with them as appropriate; let them know what happens.
